Food, Fun, and Family

Hey guys, sorry for the hiatus. Life has been kind of nuts lately. But let’s catch up. I’ve been busy with some super fun family visits lately. First my dad had a chance to visit for a couple days while he was traveling in Colorado. We had a super fun day starting with the breakfast buffet at the Broadmoor hotel. The hotel is gorgeous and they provide such excellent service.

I love every visit over there and my Dad has his own special memories there since it is where he and my mom picked me up from the adoption agency representative as a baby. We had a great breakfast and enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds.

After breakfast we headed over to the zoo which is a mile away from the Broadmoor and had some fun with the animals.

It was actually my first time ever riding the “Sky Ride” (after almost 4 years….about time I think!) which is a ski lift that takes you up over the zoo exhibits including my own Rocky Mountain Goats. It was really fun saying hi to the goats from above and the views were fantastic.

Dad had to head home after that, but it was wonderful sharing the zoo and some fun times with him! I’ve been having more fun around town and checking out some new restaurants as well. I really loved Cucuru which has a fantastic patio and delicious tapas.

I’ve been lucky enough to have a visit from my aunt and uncle lately too! They love to stay at the cutest bed and breakfast in Old Colorado City just a minute away from Cucuru. Holden House is absolutely beautifully decorated and just has the most charm of any BnB I’ve ever been to.

My aunt, uncle, and I all had a wonderful zoo day too! My zoo friends went above and beyond giving them some awesome up close experiences with some of the big cats. They love cats and had a blast feeding them and watching some training.

We met all the animals in my area as well of course and finished the day off with some giraffe feeding, the classic Cheyenne Mountain Zoo experience. They had a great time and I just loved being able to share the zoo and my friends with them.

They continued their trip on down south and I settled back into regular life. I’ve also been eating and making a lot of food at home including one of my favorites, spinach lasagna roll ups. They are super easy to make and can feed a crowd.

I froze a few pieces to warm up when the weather starts feeling fall-ish here in a few weeks. So excited for that! And one last unrelated Bodie picture just for fun. Have a great weekend, friends!
