Howdy friends! How are you? Are you ready for the weekend?! I have been wanting to recap a couple of races for awhile but wanted to finish up with all my Ecuador posts first. I made my way up to Fort Collins last month to run in my absolute favorite race ever, the Colorado Marathon. They have a 5k, 10k, half marathon and full distance. I’ve never ran the full, but have done the half, 5k, and 10k. This year I did the 10k and had a blast!
This is a gorgeous, very well organized race that started right on time in Old Town Fort Collins. We ran around town towards City Park then jumped on the trail along the Poudre River.
There was a fun after-race party in a park with all kinds of fun vendors and a live band. It was a great race. I wish I knew my old time for the 10k, but I can’t find it. I also can’t remember exactly what I ran, but I do know that I finished almost 10 minutes faster than I planned so that was awesome!
I went to Colorado State University which is in Fort Collins and I haven’t made it back to town much since graduation. I loved walking around Old Town for a bit.
I HAD to stop and get a Consuelo’s burrito on my way out. They were a staple of my college years and this brought me back.
And then the very next week I ran the Run to the Shrine 4-mile race my zoo puts on every year in Colorado Springs. It’s always have a blast running at my work with my friends.
Unfortunately during Run to the Shrine I hurt my foot somehow and it took almost 3 weeks for my heel to stop hurting. Both of these races were a blast and I’m hoping to lace up my running shoes again soon to start training for a new race. Until I can get some new shoes for my bad little feet though, I’ve been content walking the dogs and getting my steps in walking around my new home town! I hope you have a great day!!
Have any races coming up?!
