A gray day calls for french toast

Hello and Happy Friday to you! How was your week? It was a HOT week here and even my indoor treadmill runs were around 87 degrees.

When we woke up to a chilly, rainy morning today, I was thrilled. I love overcast, gloomy days.

We decided a late brunch was in order and made our way over my old favorite, Cracker Barrel.

I love walking around the little country store while waiting for a table.

They had a ton of hats so you know I tried a couple on. Do you consider yourself a “hat person”. I like hats but really only wear a baseball cap usually.

I had strawberry french toast and it was perfection. I am clearly not a food blogger because I didn’t think to take a pic until after I’d eaten the entire thing.

I picked up a few of these little gems. So much sugar, but so good. I usually make a list of goals at the beginning of the week and one of my goals this week was to consciously reduce my refined sugar intake. Yeah…..I think I get an F. Good thing Sunday is a new week and I can try again. 😉

After brunch, we ran some errands that took us downtown.

And then we headed to Trader Joe’s to pick up some cards and some special treats. These are one of my favorite snacks to munch on.

And we picked up some 21 Seasoning Salute which I put on EVERYTHING, especially veggies. I go through bottles and bottles of this stuff, it’s so good. #roastedveggiesforlife

We also picked up this new chili lime seasoning. I thought it would be perfect on some chicken in fajitas or in some taco soup. Can’t wait to try it out!

The Dog Days half marathon is officially less than 30 days away! I’m getting excited! I need to make a race day playlist. I hope you have a great weekend!

Any good songs I should add to my playlist for race day?

What’s your favorite Trader Joe’s product?
