Save a tree, buy FSC!

Hello! The sun is shining and it feels great to be outside today.

The zoo has some amazing views. I am one lucky girl to work here.

I work with mostly South American animals so as you can imagine, many of them would live in the forest in the wild. From the smallest little munchkins like marmosets….

To the incredible mountain tapir, they all come from forests.

These forests need our protection. Deforestation takes away the natural habitat these animals live in and jeopardizes their ability to survive. Sorry if I sound like a Debbie Downer, but awareness is a crucial step in creating action. Today I wanted to share something that is near and dear to my heart and is a super easy thing EVERYONE can do to help out these amazing creatures in the wild. And that thing is purchasing FSC products. FSC stand for the Forest Stewardship Council and purchasing a product with the FSC logo on it means you are buying a product from a company that is sustainably sourcing their paper and wood products from places that DO NOT harvest trees where these incredible animals live. It’s super easy to check your paper and wood product, the logo is usually on the back.

I am always looking for this logo on the products I use all the time. Toilet paper and paper towels are a big one I look for this logo on.

So do our planet a solid and just flip your paper and wood products over and look for the FSC logo, because it doesn’t make any sense to be flushing our rainforests down the toilet, right?!

I wish I could thank every individual who starts buying FSC products, but I don’t know where you live (maybe that’s a good thing) so here is one big THANK YOU for buying FSC products. It means the world me, literally. Let’s save our world by making good purchasing choices.

I hope you have a fantastic day!

Ever heard of FSC?

What steps do you take to save our planet?

    1. Thanks friend! I didn’t notice the microwave thing until just now. Um…. I microwave paper towels all the time as splash guards for soup and stuff. Uh-oh 🙂
